The Yorkshires sausages were amazing with a strong herb taste and a lovely crispy batter on the outside.
However the fries were a little dark because of the starch.

This pie was better than the other pies on the menu because it had bacon, egg, baked beans and sausage.
Utimately a Breakfast pie!!

Before I ate it, I was curious if the egg would be a sliced hard boiled egg or mashed egg but it was actually a fried egg omelette in the middle which was tasty, and the bacon, sausage and beans definitely tasted good together.

This new STAR is going to bring tourism to Mui Wo or send expats moving there!
The traffic and accessibility is much better than Sai Kung.
Well at least I am tempted.....

OMG! The battered cod and chips were just OMG!
The cod was succulent and flakey with a uniform batter and the chips were sensational!
This is how a model chip should be, it was fat, with a shiny surface and when you bite into it, the inside of the chip was silky just like molten starchy lava.
Basically the texture of the starchy lava was like velvety thick cream with a slighty chewy soft chip skin.
Eating it piping hot when it is just served tastes the best, if you leave it for a while, the chips get a little bit firmer.
You could smell the gorgeous spud smell just like baked potatoes when it was just served.

Pollock is another fish similar to cod, it is used in fish fingers and fish burgers.
The fried pollock was also to die for, it was different to the cod because the texture of this fish is much softer and silkier and melts in your mouth!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Tea:
Since my last visit, you can now choose between breakfast tea and Earl Grey.
The tea was served in a Chinese tea pot and the cups they used were those thick rimmed tea cups that you get in chaa chan tengs.
You will notice a difference if your used to thin rimmed cups.
Somehow they reminded me of the cups at BHS and Littlewood's cafeteria except the shape of the cup was different.
But anyway, it was British tea so it was the perfect quencher to go with fish and chips.

I was elated to see custard on the menu.
Custard is so simple to make and I don't know why places don't have REAL custard.
Normally I have custard with pudding or on its own, but here it is served with fresh apple pie which is made by them.
It was quite nice but I prefer sour apples.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Anyway, I am now hooked on their food and I wish they would open another branch in Central.
Ok, there is HOOKED on Caine Road, but they don't serve these chips and if the ferry was cheaper, I would be here more often!

K's British Restaurant is a restaurant that serves REAL AUTHENTIC British food and I love Karina's British pride because she even wears a T-shirt with the Union Jack.

I took the Fast Ferry to MW, got off the ferry and the Cooked food market was on the right hand side.
It was an odd feeling walking into the cooked food market because I never do that in Hong Kong.
I was greeted by this lovely restaurant with chequered tablecloths.

The restaurant was simple and it felt like those cafes in East London.
If you havent read SkyTao's review, this restaurant is easily missed because the Chinese name belonging to the previous restaurant is still there but since I read the reviews I spotted it right away by the tablecloths.

As well as cod, I tried the pollock paired with shoe string chips because they are hand cut by them as well.
For the shoe string chips they taste so good piping hot so you have to eat them as fast as you can because when they cool down, the texture is firmer and not so fragrant but it still tastes good.
Pollock is another fish similar to cod, it is used in fish fingers and fish burgers.
The fried pollock was also to die for, I regretted not ordering the large portion that had three pieces.
It was different to the cod because the texture of this fish is much softer and silkier and melts in your mouth!

The portion of mushy peas was generous! It was a bit heavy but I liked it.
It was a nice mix of mushed and whole peas.
As well as the peas, stuffing the chips in the bread was amazing because these were authentic chips perfect for making a yummy butty, not to mention putting delicious fish into it as well.

The chili con carne was really nice, it was a little too spicy for me but it tasted really authentic.
It was seriously good with chips or rice.
I would have liked the kidney beans to be softer and the sauce to be thicker.

The mash was lumpy which was good, because some places serve instant mash!
It was lovely and buttery and the pork sausage juices gave the mash an extra depth in taste while the texture of the sausage was soft and meaty.

There were two other pies that were worth trying and I couldn't decide between the chicken and mushroom, minced beef and onion and this one.
In the end of I got the steak and kidney which had a lovely pastry again filled with rich strong gravy and pungent pieces of kidney.

It was banana on top of custard with melted cane sugar.

K's is a friendly family owned business. The waitresses are young, fresh and really helpful. From living in Hong Kong a while now, I am usually disapointed but the poor service and unfriendly servers you get in local eateries around HK Island and Kowloon. These girls are a breath of fresh air, always smiling and are quick to answer any quesions about the food or pricing. Quick to serve food, especially considering everything is made to order! They deserve tips!

My favourite dish is the steak and kidney pie. You can actually chose which two sides you want with it. I went for the classic beans and mash. The portion size is HUGE! It's just excellent value for money that can also be hard to come by in HK these days. I didn't leave until I'd licked my plate clean. The mash is just.. wow.. I haven't been to a place that does real mash potatoes since..well, probably my Mum's home cooked meals years ago. After complimenting the mash, one of the girl's told me they use both BUTTER and CREAM! That's what makes it so rich. The pie is hearty and deliciously stodgy. Perfect homemade light pasty, extemely generous filling of locally souced meat and did I mention EXTRA ONION GRAVY? In a gravy boat! My mouth is watering just thinking of it! I defintely hope to go back and visit soon.

Easy to find, although they're tucked between Chinese resturants in the cooked food market, this place really is well worth the half hour ferry ride to Mui Wo and especially well earnt after a hike in the picturesque surroundings.

I hope K's achives all the success this hard-working family business that prides itself on excellence so deserves.

Decided to eat at K's British resturaunt because there really aren't enough British food places in Hong Kong and I actually caught a glimpse of one of the tables eating and the portion sizes were big and the food smelt incredible!

Didn't have to wait at all for a table because it was quite early for dinner when we went, lovely waitress served our menus and had crayons and paper for my son to color.

Ordered the chicken and mushroom pie which came with mushy peas and mash potatoes, side order of chips and bangers and mash.

We were very hungry so we dived straight into the Bangers and Mash as soon as it hit the table, the sausages are JUST DIVINE. Proper British sausages, crisp on the outside and nice and tender on the inside. My son LOVED it, the chips are really really top notch. Thick chunky chips, real ingredients - proper cooking!

Now on to my Pie. I was in two minds about which one to order - actually I wanted to order the fish and chips but a good pie is a rare find in Hong Kong so I went with pie. And even that I struggled with which to choose from, they have steak and kidney as well!, I ended up choosing the Chicken and Mushroom and I don't regret it one bit!

The crust of the pie was so light and crisp and once you cut through the pie, the gravy spilled out and the taste was just... I can't even describe it... the chicken meat was very tender and the mushrooms was really blended in very well - it was all complimenting one another. Mushy peas were awesome but what stood out and this deserves its own seperate paragraph:

Mash potatos are to die for.

There are so many places that get lazy on their mash potatoes and either use sick substitutes or not enough ingredients to make it the right consistency. Here, K's British does such a beautiful job of the mash - there's enough butter in there and it's smooth and *real*.

The best part is theres so much of it to go with your pie and your sausages that by the end of the meal, you are really really satisfied.

Size portions are big - so you are really getting a good decent meal for the price you pay.

It's located right next to the ferry pier so I am definitely going to go back to try their other items.

The resturant is family run and the lovely waitress is the daughter of the cook - both friendly and warm people. You can really tell the owner puts a lot of love in the food she cooks.

The decor is lacking but the food makes up for it leaps and bounds as too does the service so you walk away not even really bothered by the decor. I most definitely would recommend this place - it's a great find and I am really really pleased there's finally an authentic British restaurant in Hong Kong!
