It is difficult to point out which dishes are good because many are actually very good! To simplify things, let's just list some items that I have tried. But before that, I definitely must point out that after numerous times I have been dining at this branch, I have always been very pleased with their service, attitude, courtesy, and knowledge of the food they serve. Now, if only all restaurants in HK had staff like these guys...
In general, their food exhibited freshness and balanced taste:
Deep fried prawns - This is a good alternative to people who have something against salads. There are still greens init, but at least half of it is not. Very aromatic deep fried prawns (duh). Consume it as fresh as possible.
Nanban chicken - Also an aromatic fried dish, coupled with their sauce. Have it while it is fresh and hot!
Wagyu burger - This one, to be honest, is a bit of mixed opinions for me because I generally like my burgers charred.Their burgers are fine in all respects, and perhaps it will suit people who prefer non-charred patties.
Beef sukiyaki udon - The beef and soup are both good. The udon is perfect, and not soggy or too soft.
Wagyu beef with stuffed cheese - This might be a better dish that the burger because the way it is cooked and served means that it is not supposed to be "charred". Plus, there is cheese filling! Have it with a bowl of rice and that should make a pretty good meal!
Beef and pork cutlet curry with rice - The beef curry with rice is not bad as long as you are okay with some fatty bits. Likely, the fatty bits make the meat soft and taste very good! As for the pork cutlet, you get crispy pork cutlet that are soft and taste good. In my humble opinion though, the pork cutlet curry here is a bit pricey. Maybe it is because they use a lot of Japanese ingredients to make it? I have not tried to order their curry with increased spiciness, so I do not know if that is possible.
Pancakes - I need to be upfront with this. I am a HUGE fan (cannot over emphasise) of J.S. Foodie's creme brulee pancakes!!! So, I feel I may not be totally fair when I talk about the pancakes here. Granted that I need to restrain myself to the fluffy pancakes department, but hey, I am overenthusiastic! So sue me! Anyway, fluffy pancakes here: they are great! It is a shame that they serve them between 2:30 to 5:30 (5:00?) only. The ice cream is very different from the usual ice creams you get around HK, as far as I know. And you get some very tasty compote as sauce for your pancakes! They do not skimp on the quality of the fruit toppings and cream either. Their pancakes are truly awesome, unless you have a constant itch for another brand's.
For the most part, order almost anything and you will not go wrong because from my experience, everything on themenu is good. That said, goodness or greatness does come at a price - although from my perspective, their prices are on the fair side since you get very good quality, very good service, and the amount of food per dish is quite generous. To each his own though.
