continue reading

I placed a delivery order from Lobster Pot through online dining platform .First off, the menu isn’t well formatted to the online dining platform app. I selected a lobster roll and was forced to select either fries or a salad (at an additional cost of $20) before I could add the item to my basket. There was no option to not add one or the other so I selected salad and had to pay an additional $20 for any already expensive lobster roll. When my order arrived, there was no salad. So not only was I forced to pay for something I didn’t want, I didn’t even receive the salad that I had paid for.The actual lobster roll was decent, but small and considerably overpriced. The macaroni & cheese was poorly seasoned and very average overall.I will not be ordering from Lobster Pot again. continue reading

Lobster Pot is a charming looking hole in the wall offering a variety of western dishes that feature lobster, including pastas sandwiches salads and of course the signature lobster roll. For a place that only serves lobster, you would need their lobster roll to be exceptional, so that is exactly what I ordered. I likw how the lobster roll was made fresh and the bread was toasty and the texture of the bread was perfect for the lobster - portion of lobster was decent as well, but keep in mind it was $138. There were a couple of problems with the lobster roll though. Firstly the best lobster rolls often use lemon as a way to undercut the saltiness of the seawater lobster. They did this through their lemon mayo - so it is clear they know the classic combination. However the mayo was all places at the bottom of the bun and heaps of lobster on top. This created a unpleasant sensation when you bite into the roll and either get a big spurt of lemon mayo or just salty lobster - so it wasn't incorporated well. I am also not 100% sure but I feel like there was extra salt on the lobster, which is the last thing a naturally salty lobster needs. The second thing was occasionally I would have so gritty bites that seems to be from the lobster shell or the inedible parts of the lobster's joints. This was very unpleasant as well - and I was afraid I would crack a tooth on this! I had to spit a fairly big inedible piece out as well - it's ok if I'm having a lobster on it's own - but it's inexcusable to have it in a lobster roll which should be smooth eating as far as I'm concerned.  continue reading
