The food was horrible and ruined my appetite for the night. Stale food, bad service and smelly ambience. Totally worth a miss!

Kennedy town is always a place to explore, especially these few years where it has transformed into an area similar to soho, but quieter I would say This time, it’s a recommendation of a friend who just moved to the area, Lebanese food! A place next to Catch, small and cute. Great option for vegetarians, which is what we ordered this time too! Honestly I don’t really know the dishes’ names as I let my friend take the call all I know is flatbread! The texture is chewy, and served warm too! The di

all I know is flatbread! The texture is chewy, and served warm too! The dip I believe was eggplant and jalepeno, flavourful and generous amount. Highlight of the night is...the fried cauliflower! Oh my! It’s so tasty!!! The cauliflower was well cooked through, paired with a tangy sauce, spicy coating, so good! Will definitely come back just for this!!!

Many better Mediterannean dining options, which means I probably won’t return here. Dips tasted store-bought and food was average. Very empty on a weeknight, so can get a spot easily. But I will always choose its neighbour Catch over this place to dine in.

Mama Malouf serves Middle Eastern food with playful modern twists.

After seeing pictures on social media, I knew the food was going to be good because it was similar to the Leb food in London and they also do hummus bowls while the pickles looked promising.

Started with the Mezze which are a must
MAMAS MEZZE - HUMUS, BABA, TARAMASALATA, PICKLES - 138
All my favourite dips with hot and soft flatbread.
The pickles were really refreshing and strong with a good salty and sour kick.

This was chunky liver pieces on creamy feta mayo.

SMASHED EGGPLANT WITH LEBANESE SALSA & ZATAR MANOUSH - 98
I love anything with Zatar, the more the better and the flatbread was coated with a delicious layer that was aromatic.
The smashed eggplant accompanied it nicely.

SHISH TAWOUK WITH PEPPERS AND ONION, ALMOND RICE & TOUM - 178
This is another must order as the pieces of chicken were chunky and tender on a bed of fluffy rice.
Adding the dip to the rice and chicken makes it taste even better.

BAKED CARROTS WITH FETA MAYO & POMEGRANATE - 58
The carrots were too pretty to eat, almost as if they were freshly plucked from the soil.
Each one was roasted perfectly with a soft centre topped with delicious creamy mayo.

Finished with the COFFEE & CARDAMOM ICE CREAM SANDWICH - 68.
Although it was coffee, It reminded me of Indian masala chai.
The icecream and filo pasty tasted really good together and the delicate filo layers hung the ice cream nicely.

For drinks, had the harissa which tasted like bloody mary.
However, it would be good if you could choose the level of spiciness.

It was quite a shock for me to enter this 'restaurant'.. More like a shack. So they have split catch on catchick in two to make space for this resto. Although don't be surprised if you find people from catch sitting in this restaurant and eating Catch food! That was the first red light for me but i still wanted to give their food a chance. Waited for twenty minutes for a seat. Table for four. Ordered their mezz platter for sharing and then a combination of hot and cold dishes. Overall, it was pretty much meh. Nothing special.

Over priced food.. Not worth the tiny portions. Definitely not authentic. You could taste mayonnaise and cream in their hummus!!

Don't waste your time and more importantly money. If you want genuine middle eastern food and if you are in that area.. You rather go to falafel hut which is right opposite this place!

Dinner: (1) mama's mezze (hummus, babaganoush, labne, olives and pickles) - as expected; (2) tabbouleh - fresh and as expected as well; (3) Lebanese pastries (feta/mint filo triangles and lamb/pine nut filo cigars) - this was tasty...crispy on the outside; (4) open duck shawarma - crust was a bit thick and chewy for me; (5) lamb shoulder - was okay; (6) beef tenderloin skewers - seasoned well and super tender.
