Wanted a quick snack on my way home so I ordered a large Korean fried chicken online for pickup. Walked into the restaurant at around 7:30pm. A rather heavy-set cashier was there facing the service window with her back turned to the counter. I walked up to the counter, stood there for a bit and gave her a few seconds just in case she was just busy with something, it turned out she was just looking at her phone. So I said "hello" once, no response. Said "hello" twice, no response. Then I said "hello, I'm here to pick up my order". She finally turned her head a little bit and without making eye contact, pointed off to somewhere behind a tall shelf on the other side of the counter. So I went around the shelf and saw a rack with 2 or 3 paper bag on top of it, and I asked her which one was mine as I didn't want to be touching other people's food. Again, no response. So I look through them and was able to find my order then walked out being super perplex. I may have even muttered out "JFC, you guys" as I was walking out.
The cashier didn't say one single word or make eye contact through the whole interaction. It was the strangest experience I have ever had at a fast food restaurant. I have had better experiences picking up my food from clearly uninterested teenagers working at a Popeye's in SoCal, hey, at least they acknowledge your existence. If she treats a customer like that, I feel sorry for the food delivery guys that have to deal with her.
The Korean fried chicken was great though, no complaints there.
