Yet another Groupon gone astray. We came here on a Groupon deal and were given a pretty awful meal.
We had pig cheek noodles, sheredded chicken ramen noodles, pork and chive dumplings, chicken and lotus dumplings, chicken sausage and cheesy sausage.
The noodles were piled high with raw garlic. It really ruined our tastebuds (and breath) for the next few hours. The flavour of the pig cheek was OK, but the garlic just obliterated any possible good flavours.
The pork dumplings were OK, but covered in more raw garlic. The chicken ones were filled with completely unmentioned mushrooms. We both dislike mushrooms, so we ordered them as they were one of the only kind of dumplings that did not explicitly mention having them on the menu.
The sausage was not sausage. We basically got two different kinds of canned cheapy hotdogs. We ate some of it, but did not wish to eat much.
Even the tea tasted tinned. It was another unfortunate case of a business failing to grasp the concept of a Groupon. It always staggers me that a restaurant tries to give a cheapy meal to a groupon customer in the hope of a quick buck. Surely the idea of a Groupon is to drum up repeat custom by giving a good experience to a first time visitor, not to put off potential future visits and get a bad review on the internet.
