The egg tart was so hot when i bought them that i could barely hold it in my hand. Their egg tarts has an extremely rich yellow hue which is a prelude to its rich taste. The crust was really flaky and buttery, and would crumble in your fingers should you hold it with too much force. The egg custard was super smooth and creamy, and overall it wasn't too sweet as well.

去中環時正好路過,便和她隨便買了幾樣東西吃~他們的蛋撻底用曲奇皮,非常脆,但很容易碎,蛋撻真的很滑,咬下去滿口蛋汁,很有滿足感。莎翁就綿軟香甜,咬下去甜甜的,外皮很鬆化,內裡卻綿綿的,感覺有點像吃泡芙。皮蛋酥以半流質的蓮蓉餡包裹著一小粒皮蛋,雖然皮蛋的味道很淡,但幸好在蓮蓉里紅薑的味道也不濃,而且蓮蓉的口感很不錯!蛋黃酥的餡有點像蓮蓉餡,但不是半流質的,裡面的鹹蛋黃有點溏心蛋,介於熟和不熟之間,感覺很特別。

I came here in the afternoon to grab an eggtart ($6) and sugar puff($6) for a snack and was expecting a huge line, but I got lucky and only had to wait about 10 minutes. The eggtarts from Tai Cheong are famous for their silky smooth texture and their rich egg flavour, and they certainly live up to the hype. 金黃色的外皮上灑滿了沙糖粒,入口鬆軟,內裹淡黃色的部分蛋味濃郁,甜度適中,沒有太多油份,加上由放密度不高,所以不會帶來飽濟及過膩的感覺,美中不足是沙翁已經放涼了,沒有暖暖的感覺

我在店內影相期間,有位美籍華人說英文,想買月餅返 New York! 店員阿姐也說到簡單英文對答!
 不要看少阿姐!更問對方住在香港哪間酒店?多少錢?

店子售賣麵包、蛋撻、禮盒、豆漿...等,當中,蛋撻是最受歡迎!

We had a visitor who has a sweet tooth, so we took him for the egg tarts at Tai Cheong.  

I have to say, that, while not as good as Macau style egg tarts, these were pretty good.  I normally like Macau egg tarts better for the flaky pastry and caramelized top.  Here, they are made in the HK way with a shorter pastry and a pale egg custard.

Stopped by this famous place expecting it to be super expensive. But to my surprise, it was very affordable and great! I ordered a pinapple bun and 2 egg tarts. The egg tarts were quite firm and do not fall apart as easily as others'. The pinapple bun was quite sugary, but not sweet. The taste of the sugar on top balanced well with the eggy taste of the bun.

Compared to the other bakeries, their pricing was rather cheap, and probably tasted better than the others too. The ladies working there are also very nice and helpful. They don't scream at you or give you really bad attitude compared to other bakeries that are the same size and level of business. It is a little out of the ways for me, but I'll be back.
