Had the pecan pie, tastes pretty good. It's not too sweet and gives you that savory taste. Also ordered a apple crumble tart but I like the pecan pie more. They also have specials everyday promoting new pie flavours. Tried the kimchi pork pie, it was alright. I love the top pie crust, its thick but you can also taste the lightness of the crust when you bite into it. Its not oily at all. If its chilled and taste this great. Then, it must be really good when its freshly baked. continue reading

I love sausage rolls and I love omnipork so I had to try the omnipork sausage roll. They also have beyond meat pies as well. When you buy it, they reheat it for you.I was surprised how delicious it was because you could taste all the usual sausage roll herbs. The only thing that I wasn't prepared for was the spiciness which overpowered the everything. continue reading

continue reading

In the lead up to Canadian Thanksgiving I have had a chance to sample three Canadian treats from TTPP. Their maple butter tarts are a touch sweeter than regular butter tarts but it worked, and the bit of crystallized maple sugar that formed on the second day gave them an added flair. The crusts were like cookies I could eat on their own. Really good. I took pumpkin and spice bites to the office and they were a big hit. To me, those tasted like home. Just like Gramma's pumpkin pie (but with a better crust... sshh!)I also tried the gingersnap pumpkin pie. It was very tasty, but I prefer the traditional pumpkin and spice.Bottom line, I know where to go if I get homesick, and I'm looking forward to trying more TTPP treats. continue reading

This eatery was introduced by magazine years ago and I finally had the chance to try it.There was Drunken Apple Crumble Bite and mini size was available. Cinnamon and wine as ingredients were my favourites. Therefore, I had no hesitation to buy one. Though there was no alcohol flavour, it may deepen flavour to the treat. The flavour was great with something like chestnut and cinnamon though the apple crumble was very sweet but I still recommended cinnamon fans should not miss this.Savory Steak & Guinness pie 4.5” priced at $50. Ther outer crust was thin and its flavour was light. A bit disappointed that the crust was not buttery. The beef bites inside were lean and chewy but not tough. It was strange that I could not taste any black pepper flavour as beef pie usually has. Except for the beef bites, other fillings were carrot, green beans, onion, potatoes and tomato flesh. Only mild herbs and saltiness could be tasted . I thought if more saltiness added to the fillings, the taste would be better. As a whole, the pie was not up to my expectation. I suggested to try others if you have difficulty to make decision. continue reading
