I've been wanting to check this place out for a little while so was really happy when my friend offered to go with me.
I ordered the Chili Cheese Dog and she had the New York Dog. We both ordered set (which was very good value) one of us got a frozen pineapple and the other got the small fries.
Service: The service was really nice. She got the order down quickly and asked if we wanted to put the orders together.
Bun: Really want to point out that the hot dog to bun ration was good. Wewere impressed buy the bun in particular because it was soft but toasted and it didn'tget soggy. This is pretty impressive considering it took us around 10 minutes to walk back home.
Hotdog: The hotdog itself is a good size and easy to eat with minimal mess. Ordering the combo set will definitely fill you up. In the Chili Cheese Dog, the chili flavour is notable, but it doesn't cover the hotdog flavour which is good. The one letdown was that I didn't really taste the cheese. The New York Dog was pretty good. Spice wasn't too strong, was a pretty good balance, every bite had all the ingredients in it.
Snacks: The frozen pineapple wasn't anything special, could make it at home if you wanted. (fries were definitely better and you get thousand island dressing which I found pretty tasty.)
Wait time: It took about 10 minutes, could have been a little faster. However, considering that everything was made fresh, it was a reasonable trade-off. If the place gets any more customers, the wait time is going to be fairly long.
Others: One thing I will note is that there is only takeway for this. Because of this we had to carry the fries outside the bag to prevent the sauce getting everywhere.
Store: you can see directly into the kitchen to watch the hot dogs being cooked. This is particularly nice because I like to know what's happening to my food. The kitchen was very clean and fairly organized but they did put the buns on top of the refrigerator which my friend didn't like. She's picky with where her food is being placed.
Will definitely come back to try the other hot dogs!
