My friend and I were looking for another cafe nearby but couldn't find it at the end and saw Empress Cafe by accident. It's located in an alley which can be really hard to find. It looked small and cozy so thought we would give it a try. As it turned out, we were quite disappointed. We ordered black pepper beef spaghetti. It was super oily. You can taste the black pepper and the huge amount of butter used. The beef was abit over cooked. The spaghetti was cooked al dente but there was literally at least a tablespoon of oil left in the plate at the end. Then came the fried egg with ilberico ham with a side of green salad. I expected more of it. There were only a few small pieces of ham. And the green salad was just lettuce with balsamic vinegar. I would expected they'd put more heart into it that maybe a few cherry tomatoes wouldn't hurt. And we ordered two coffees. Nothing spectacular about those. However, we overheard the next table ordered a cappuccino and it came a coffee with no foam. And I thought that's the minimum a cafe can do is to provide a proper cup of coffee. All in all, it's a cafe I wouldn't give it a second chance. continue reading

昨天跟友人走到大王東街,剛好左望明仁里(小巷)有間不太起眼的CAFE,就走進去試試。可能因為已經過了午飯時間,而且地點不太顯眼,所以只有我們和另外幾位客人。店舖以原木+懷舊為主題,桌子和椅子都很有特色,播放的英文曲很好聴,燈光適中,令人非常放鬆。去的時間外面下著大雨,有些店舖就是有種濕淋淋的感覺,而這裡仍保持濕度適中,感覺乾爽舒服。而且因為是小巷,人流不多,還少了嘈吵的汽車聲,所以環境寧靜。櫈下放有藤籃,平時可以放手袋,冬天可以放大褸,想得非常周到。全程先後點了西班牙黑毛豬火腿炒蛋﹑黑松露炒意大利闊麵﹑日本明太子意粉和碎朱古力Waffle。其中西班牙黑毛豬火腿炒蛋和日本明太子意粉,超乎意外的好吃,非常推介。炒蛋的功夫很好,非常滑嫰,火腿份量和鹹香味適中,好吃!  而明太子意粉,意粉彈牙口感佳,配製的醬料和明太子是絶配。其實本人不太吃明太子,但吃這個完全沒問題,在半飽的狀況下,也因為太好吃,結果把整碟都吃光了! 平時友人對吃很挑,也不禁對這兩道菜稱讚起來。必食推介~碎朱古力Waffle,2大塊,份量十足。外脆內嫰,不會太甜,內裡有很多碎朱古力,口感不錯。喜歡甜吃的不妨試試。黑松露炒意大利闊麵也好吃,闊麵彈牙口感亦佳,黑松露味道不錯。但因為西班牙黑毛豬火腿炒蛋和日本明太子意粉對味覺的衝擊太大,回想起來相對印象不深。另外,店老闆落力招待,而且店內的餐紙巾很漂亮,也是推薦這小餐館的原因。看著願意花心機和成本經營的老闆,希望有多些人能認識這間小餐館。 continue reading

位於灣仔小巷既cafe 真係要靠google map先搵到🙈地方唔算大 有一張大枱可以6-8人 四張細枱可以2人 另外仲有bar枱可以睇住咖啡師沖咖啡今次用左groupon既優惠 除返開每人只係$40All day breakfast 有多士 薯餅 腸仔 炒蛋 蘑菇 煙肉 茄汁豆 沙律份量算多😍炒蛋好滑 腸仔唔會太油 但係多士就太快淋左 用厚多士效果會更好 其他就中規中矩 煙肉番茄窩夫(咸食)賣相精緻 大大件窩夫夾住幾片番茄同煙肉味道好夾 窩夫屬於鬆軟 中和返煙肉既咸旁邊有少少沙律菜隔肚係唔錯 如果個窩夫中間可以加少少醬汁會更好靠牆位置有個書櫃 可以俾食客睇下書過一個悠閒下午 continue reading

來到星期天,想喘口氣,到灣仔區走走看看, 走進了這間位cafe。店內有三張大枱,及吧台位置,空間不算大,環境寧靜,非常合適嘆下午茶。點了chocolate chips waffle, 脆口waffle 要讚好, 濃度朱古力, 食完之後, 心情好左!第一次見藩薯奶茶,拉花幾靚,聞到一陣香濃既藩薯味,飲入口,有藩薯味,不算甜,味道剛好,熱度可再提高(可能夏天關係,所以溫度沒有調太高)。店員態度和諧,下次會再來! continue reading

灣仔★Empress CafeTGIF可惜明天要打工今天尚抱病無得"happy friday",一於乖乖地搵間舒適小cafe來個摯友小聚原來都幾隱蔽下嫁,朋友仔兜左陣圈先搵到,哈哈,正正因為隱世所以寧靜6點幾黎到連職員都未ready仲度緊daily special,難得"包場"可以好好欣賞下個環境影下相室內以木系為主,感覺舒適溫暖~盡頭有個放滿書既書櫃,想偷閒可以黎打下書釘木枱上面有幾個小洞,看到的是缺憾美另外牆上面掛左一排大相框做裝飾,好似gallery咁用射燈照住。由種種小細節中睇得出設計者既心思搵食時間Today's pasta menu新鮮出燼!忌廉汁蟹肉蝴蝶粉($70):★★★★★ ★★★☆☆Wow蟹肉都好澎湃下,口感同鮮味都唔錯~蝴蝶粉軟硬適中有嚼勁,忌廉汁既份量剛剛好夠上汁,食落好rich好實在食完又唔洗驚太滯配角既紅蘿蔔煮得唔算好熟有少少硬,不過反而因為咁多左份爽甜,又成碟粉既味道唔會太單調麵包控不甘心於只食pasta,又搵另一個散點menu望下..BLT窩夫三文治($60):★★★★★ ★★★☆☆成日食雪糕窩夫,今日轉下口味,咸食窩夫同樣賞心悅目窩夫薄係薄左d,不過口感比想像中厚實唔會得空氣感,而且蛋味都幾香諗左一陣BLT係咩特別名堂,原來係stand for Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato依三樣餡料!內涵只係普通材料(都好新鮮),但係搽左果個芥末醬之後成個窩夫升左level味道勁夾,頂瓜瓜簡直係成個三文治既靈魂呀另外朋友仔仲點左杯紫薯鮮奶($38),病左無得試飲,不過睇落賣相都唔錯,朋友仔都好似ok滿意埋單$168/2ppl。(P.S. 唔收加一)整體黎講環境舒適寧靜,服務唔多但職員態度都幾好,食物味道有驚喜有水準得黎性價比高不過果晚雖然係星期5但生意都幾清淡,睇黎要係灣仔區生存都唔係咁易,希望會有多D人認識同支持下依間有水準既小店啦 continue reading
