純豆腐湯頗為惹味。但以拉麵來說沒什驚喜。性價比低。Good Sundubu soup base.Ramen is nothing spetacular.Slightly overpriced. Located at the same street as Luk Yu Tea House, it's fairly easy to find. I'm not sure whether they have an English menu or not. So starting from the top left corner is their award "No.1 Kuroko Ramen", which is shoyu based ramen with garlic oil. The one next to it is the "Red Kuroko" (Spicy ramen). Then its Tonkotsu with Gyogai ramen, followed by Tonkotsu Shoyu ramen and finally on the top righthand corner, the Sundubu Tonkotsu ramen that I ordered.

They are most famous for their shoyu ramen but I wasn't too interested in that.

First, the soup: Pretty strong gyogai (marine products) flavour with a pretty light tonkotsu taste. (The tonkotsu felt almost like the tonkotsu taste in instant ramen packs.) I could taste Korean spicy sauce in it as well. It tasted very similar to the sundubu soup at most Korean restaurants, only less spicier and less seafood (as the ramen only came with clams and tofu). A sundubu will usually have mussels, squid and prawns as well.

So as far as a bowl of sundubu is concerned. It's not bad.

The clams were nothing to write home about. One or two had some sand in it.

The tofu used should either by Japanese or Korean tofu for soup, which is firmer than other types of tofu so it won't break so easily. It's tasty but cold.

I choose noodles with medium hardness. The texture of the noodles was firm and had a pronounced eggy taste. It's not bad with the soup.

Conclusion:

It's good as far as sondubo is concerned but I was expecting something more than just a bowl of tone downed sondubo with some noodles in it. (I'd prefer a bowl of rice to go with the sundubu instead.)

Nothing spectacular as far as ramen is concerned.

I could get a sundubu set for just $50-80 around the area. So $90 plus 10% service charge,  I think this is over priced, hence the "OK".
I will not rule out another visit to try their other stuff.
