It was a lay-back afternoon as i walked by and saw the Old Head Chef was backed from a 6 months trip to Singapore and standing in the kitchen in charged. Haven't been here for quite a while, so immediately snuggled in and grabbed myself a seat.
Now, i do have to state that the place is a bit tight, but i'm here for the food, so put that behind me real quick and awaits the long forgotten taste of C/P way above average Hainan Chicken Rice.
Service is great, and the price was merely HKD 1+ from 3 years ago.
The owner told as we were chatting during his execution of my order.
He rather to maintain the quality and the reasonable price to serve the neighbour hood,
than to move the whole operation to a busy district. The ingredients he used hasn't changed a bit since day one; way before the World Financial Crisis.
As other fellow foodies must have noticed the quality of his chicken, to the seasoning of the rice, or even the unlimited supply of grind ginger and hot&sour Chicken Sauce were maintaining quite a standard.
Simply put, HKD 30 is well worth-while for their quality product & the upmost sincere, humble services. Although, there are numerous issues
one might always be able to complain, but everytime when i was served by these chefs who aim to serve the local, rather than fancy something simple, and delightful into level of unnecesssary unrealistic. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
Having said that, i ordered another plate of rice but with Roast Pork Neck instead.
They dun have Cha-Siu, when u order Cha-Siu they will give u their specialty Roast Pork Neck. I made sure that zero rice are wasted with a few additional spoon full of their Chilli Sauce n Ginger.
The Soup is always mild but MSG free, they have enough Chicken Bone to make stock.
This is still a great place to eat Chicken Rice, however, i do recommend if take-out finish them quickly, cost re-heating a slight boil chicken without drying it takes some skill n experience.
