To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 又是每年一度做孝子賢孫的時候,例牌過後大家會到附近喝頓茶吃些點心作午餐 。雖然之前已吃了不少燒肉,不過剛才作了少許的體力勞動,肚子現在也應裝得下吧星期天到處都是人頭湧湧,差不多每所茶樓門外都大塞車本是要到西苑的,但人多得被迫放棄眾多地方中,唯獨是這兒不太用等那麼久,雖已心知不妙,但亦無奈接受一口氣叫了數之不盡的點心,其中做星期天特惠價的蝦餃及燒賣就一次過叫了好幾round,但味道亦一如平常那些特價貨般差勁 --- 蝦餃裏頭只是些不盡新鮮的雪藏蝦,肥豬肉及筍粒又欠奉;燒賣看上去是"甩皮甩骨"的,完全提不起舉筷的衝動豉油皇炒腸粉好像只是用豉油將那些腸粉上色一般,是全然沒有煎炒過的香氣;煎餃底部不脆且皮很硬,勝在肉餡夠多,但肉本身卻是超乾的;蘿蔔糕是吃得一口粉的;原本以為作為京式的大滷麵會好些,怎知卻只落得像在吃調稀了的漿糊的下場最後吃得最多的,竟是那餐前小吃辣青瓜豆腐粒怪不得這兒是不太用等位看來食客們的眼光也挺獨到呢
