To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). 我唔想「安心出行」，唔想填紙仔，又冇打乜針物針，唯一方法就係買外賣。買個外賣飯盒返到屋企食，方便又衛生，又唔怕肺炎。玉子汁煮豬軟骨飯 (燒肉汁)，豬軟骨好入味，texture又淋又嫩，仲好厚肉，味道係又有肉味又濃又香口，唔係果啲未學滿師就出嚟開餐廳果啲馬虎味道，呢個完全係高質日本料理店嘅味道，燒肉汁真係招牌，好好味。可以講話淨係個肉汁已經可以撈幾碗飯嚟食，之前真係冇諗過，咁簡單嘅豬軟骨飯都可以煮得咁出色，下次一定再叫番哩嗰食。
