To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 我最近去了這家位於青衣長康邨的百份百餐廳,卻遇到了非常糟糕的服務態度。我們剛到餐廳時,服務員一臉不耐煩地招呼我們,讓我們感到非常不受歡迎。當我們問她有關菜單的問題時,她的回答也非常不友善,好像我們在阻住她做野一樣。實際上這間百份百餐廳人手短缺的問題已經非一日之寒,我們叫咗好耐侍應,都始終未有人理會,好不容易等到有侍應行近,卻竟換來一隻手掌貼在我面前,意指他非工作中,不能為我們下單。千呼萬喚終於都點了餐,我們等了很久食物才到,送來的食物已經變得稍涼,我叫的湯麵已經發泡,我們覺得這很大機會是因為待應不足,因廚房出餐處仍然堆積大量食物,其實吃得出食材質素尚算不錯,只可惜服務未能配合。中途我們想向侍應要一杯水,她邊行邊急促地說:「水係自助嫁」。才剛剛用餐完畢,她就急不及待地收走我們的餐膳,意指我們食完就要快走。總之,這次用餐的經驗非常糟糕。服務員的態度非常差,完全沒有顧及客人的需求和要求。如果這家餐廳不能改善他們的服務態度,我不會再去這裡用餐,也不會向任何人推薦這家餐廳。
