To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 多年無見的友人從外地回來,並介紹他外國好友給我認識,希望大家敘敘,分享不同國度的有趣事物,認識新朋友,談天說地,豈不快哉!為了遷就他友人入住的酒店,我選了在他附近商場的酒樓,雖是地點較偏僻,但也不乏捧場客,偌大的酒樓,由抵步時的三成到走時個多小時內已坐滿近八成。餐牌的價目也很合理,如清蒸大青班約兩斤,賣 $128一條,小菜約五十餘至七十餘。友人堅持要做東,便由他發辦。誰知他所點的,落單兩分鐘後侍應回來告訴:迷你冬瓜盅,片皮鴨兩食,是晚孖寶全部賣光,要重新叫過,最後點了招牌雞煲鮑翅,清蒸大青班,炸子雞半隻及蒜蓉炒莧菜。招牌雞煲鮑翅用一大瓦煲上,湯料甚豐,約有半隻雞,和一梳梳的翅仔,湯水呈奶白色,翅仔賣相不錯,湯味算濃郁,三人每人可分三碗,炸子雞皮薄香脆,肉帶黃油,肉質雖不及北角鳳城的嫩,但我已覺得滿意,蒜蓉炒莧菜也見水準,莧菜不老、無渣,清蒸大青班火候剛好,肉離骨,豉油調較得宜,魚是新鮮的,肉質算滑,但沒有海魚的獨有鮮味和爽。過幾天,老友又要返國了,不知何日君再來?
