不論天氣季節,總喜愛滾一滾,相信是香港特色之一。每當朋友聚餐,亦總有人提議吃火鍋,而是晚的聚餐地點,亦是一間火鍋店。火鍋本色有多間分店,除此店外,其餘兩間亦曾到訪,印象亦不俗。西環店內裡裝潢帶點懷舊風,座處比一般火鍋店寬敞,尤其友人安排了獨立房,用餐環境更靜更佳。餐廳餐牌很簡單,一紙兩面詳列所有美食,不要少看這餐紙,不論湯底海鮮肉食款式皆選擇繁多,總要花點時間心思細選一番。既然有人自動請纓點菜,當仁不讓,先混混醬,喝口凍飲解渴。餐廳所提供的醬料很平實,都是一般葱蒜辣椒醬油,說實話,已很夠用。如有點選刺身生蠔等美食,餐廳另會其他專用酸汁醬料調味。飲品方面,分別點了一渣竹蔗茅根及酸梅湯。前者色澤橙黃,賣相有點似橙汁,竹蔗甜度高。後者製作更加出色,用料足,淺嚐一口,頓時酸感湧上,即時醒神醒胃。為全晚打頭陣的美食是一道炸品小吃,日式炸池魚仔。每條池魚仔約一隻手指般長,炸至金黃脆口,整條魚連骨可吃,少吃滋味。接下來是一系列冷盤刺身,先來本色極上刺身拼盤(4人前),以火鍋店水準來說拼盤賣相都算有交待,份量亦足,內含石蚌、帶子、北寄貝、赤貝及海膽五款刺身。石蚌刺身由原條石蚌起肉奉上,食味鮮甜,肉質富
