We came here at 5:00pm for a quick bite before our dinner at The Peninsula and to spend money for parking. We had to wait 10 minutes just to get seats because they don’t open half of the restaurant until 6.

We were just gonna order their Shrimp Ceviche that we always wanted to try and leave but they don’t that nowadays due to pandemic 🙁. There is apparently also a minimum order of one dish per person so we had to order 4 😞.

Beef Tai Chanh 越南生牛肉 $108

The beef is fully cooked (to avoid bacteria contamination during the pandemic) so it is not raw. The flavor was nice and mild. It was very moist and marinated well which made it even more tender. The beef was a good combination with the red onions as is acidic. The baguette chips is good but a bit too oily, there was 4 pieces.

Buttered chicken wing 牛油雞翼 $78 (4 pieces)

The exterior is crispy and crunchy, the batter however is paper thin. The butter flavor is subtle and overpowered by the garlic flavor. The meat is succulent and firm. The hot juices explode in your mouth when you bite into it.

This is served with a Garlic Hot Sauce that is very spicy (chilli paste spicy that burns your throat) it is a nice contrast to the buttery chicken but only add a little bit as it very strong and you just want a little tang.

Morning glory stems 蒜子炒通菜梗 $88

Absolutely delicious, the flavor is not your typical stir fried morning glory but there’s this distinct smokiness to it that makes it so memorable. There is also a lot of garlic cloves as well and all of them still have the skin as well. The portion is quite generous with a lot of crunchy stems.

Okra Salad 秋葵蝦沙律 $86

The shrimp was already cut in half and thin, there was only 6 pieces of halved shrimp 😬. There was a lot of okra and all of them was crunchy and slimy. There is also some crispy onions on top which was very flavorful and goes well with the shrimp, however it became soggy when covered with the sauce.

Overall, the food was delicious but definitely a bit too expensive for a normal lunch or dinner, but at least the portion was big.

The service definitely needs improvement, especially for a K11 restaurant as the staff does not actively respond to your raised hand and you have to make eye contact with them to let them know you have a request 😂.

The restaurant was immediately full at 6 as they open the other half of the restaurant. So I recommend you to get here early and get a ticket beforehand as it gets fully packed.

We will definitely come back to try their other foods as well and I’ll write a longer review for that too 😅😋.
