To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 朋友病咗,無乜胃口,唯一要求係清啲。好啦!本來打算食好啲嘅,但最後只好頹食入到魚米,睇下餐牌,非常適合朋友因為都係各式各樣的病人餐有粥、有麵!左㨂右㨂,最後我揀咗呢個果醋豬軟骨韮菜餃米線($42)。一上枱,我有少少後悔!因為個魚湯比果醋豬軟骨沾污咗,冇咗魚湯嗰種奶白色,仍冇咗魚鮮味,食完仲有少少口乾湯底有榨菜絲、腐皮及芽菜,都算多料。米線及韮菜餃屬正常級數,冇乜特別。反而豬軟骨炆到軟腍腍,而且好入味,味道酸酸甜甜,唔錯!不過如果豬軟骨可以分開上的話,我相信無論個湯,或者豬軟骨,都會更好味。
