To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 話說三個月前在同一間食店就食到火滾,服務差,冷氣太凍不特只餸菜無嚟味道連杯水都殘留洗碗水味......但今晚呢一餐令我對呢間餐廳有點改觀.今晚外母請食飯由佢發辦去邊度食,見唔使煮有時間整埋吓屋企.到咗晚上七點半去到都唔使等好耐就有枱,坐低唔使避風口位,落單既侍應有耐性就算改咗兩次單都好有笑容同有禮貌地覆單.今次外母點咗四個餐:有我鍾意食既西蘭花炒班球,西蘭花清爽,班球炒得很冶味.原本想幫老婆點豉汁蒸倉魚但無貨唯有叫咗清蒸紅油,魚肉十分新鮮可惜蒸過火候肉有點"鞋".同大四喜燒味拼盤,自選四種燒味:叉燒味道一般夾起有啲散散哋,乳豬皮脆肉嫩無乜肥膏十分出色,油雞沒有雞味和分蹄"乾爭爭"很失望.仲有外母至愛既咸蛋蒸墨魚餅,咸蛋既咸香加上墨魚滑既彈牙令人十分回味.最後要咗杯冰鎮奶茶.雖然各方面都有進步,但上飯既速度仲需要大力改善,唔係既話等到啲餸凍晒真係食乜都無味!
