大學一年級時總是經常與一大班同學到陳根記吃飯,食物選擇夠多之餘亦特別適合聚餐暢談一番,想不到竟然會在大埔開設分店,對我而言方便得多。將大排檔搬至室內無疑少了一種風味,但另一方面卻顯然變得更加乾淨舒適,一如既往手寫下單,首當其衝當然要每人先點一碗白飯($11)。WASABI蟹籽手撕雞 ($152)每次到陳根記定必會點的招牌菜,將芥辣混入手撕雞中別具新意。香煎蠔餅 ($82)蠔餅其實是油炸而非煎成,炸得酥脆但比較油膩。椒鹽九肚魚 ($86)九肚魚外脆內軟而且粉漿不會過厚,鹹香十足。蟹肉炒桂花 ($78)首次品嚐炒桂花原來主要以雞蛋和芽菜等炮製而成,再加上蟹肉作芡。豉椒炒蜆 ($82)炒蜆亦是其中一款經典小炒,鹹甜惹味適合伴飯。十三香浸辣蝦 ($164)將原隻蝦以辣油浸泡,麻辣入味。凍蟹 ($1)見有推廣優惠只要$1便可以加點一隻凍蟹,物超所值。
