To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 今日適逢十一國慶,商場關門,所以到了這間太興吃飯。6時30分入座,隨即向侍應點菜(當時只有2名樓面連傳菜,店外還有人排隊)先不談沒有乳鴿,與店員落單後遲遲未有上菜。我們於6時57分向侍應查詢(已經不談舉手未有被理會),我們才知道之前所點的菜 根 本 沒 有 落 單,電腦紙的時間記錄是6時55分,而侍應並未有半點歉意。同時聽到隔離枱亦閙侍應有另一些東西出錯。今次是一個很可怕的晚飯體驗,相信暫時不會再光顧這間分店。
