To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 今日想食潮州嘢,附近只有呢一間,本來冇乜期望,但入到去都覺得坐得幾舒服,而且裝修唔似酒樓,有新鮮感。平時飲茶都會食鹹水角,但呢度嘅鹹水角加咗欖菜,加入左潮式風味,喺出邊未食過,有啲驚喜哦。馬拉糕唔係平時用嘅黃糖,反而用咗黑糖,多咗黑糖嘅清香。馬拉糕做得又鬆軟,食得好開心。已經好耐冇食過鵪鶉旦燒賣,三粒大大粒而且入邊仲加咗潮州人好鍾意嘅大地魚,香口咗好多。反而呢個酥炸脆脆碎腩粒係今日咁多樣嘢比較失色嘅一味,其實我好鍾意食炸牛腩,但由於佢用嘅係碎腩粒,大小不一,而且相差都幾遠,其中有啲係一整舊嘅肥膏。我覺得炸腩粒不妨可以用稍為瘦啲嘅牛腩,出到嚟嘅感覺會冇咁油膩。
