Mom was out for party and I was too lazy to cook. By coincidence, I received their promotion email, so decided to bring dad for a try.
Food is nice in general. Shabu shabu dinner $538 (plus 10%) per person, including Iwate omega-fed wagyu beef, Chiba yam-fed pork, Kyushu chicken, Hiroshima oysters, vegetable platter and udon, all unlimited refill. They also have 5 different soup base to choose from, we chose the seaweed fish and the soy sauce soup. My dad loves crabs, so we added extra $68 for a Kobako crab and all you can eat Matsuba crab. They also offer unlimited Asahi refill or non-alcoholic drinks for extra $38.
個set還包括以蟹為主的前菜三小碟(無相) 及刺身壽司。第一次在秋田吃壽司,還可以。刺身新鮮,首推合時令的秋刀。
The set also includes crab appetizer trio (no photo), sashimi and sushi. It was my first time having sushi in this restaurant. It was ok. For sashimi, recommend sanma, the one in season.
Fresh Kobako crab was the main reason we visited the place and it did not disappoint! Extra $68 for one Kobako is a really good deal. Don't forget, the $68 also include all you can eat
Matsuba crab, which is basically they are giving out for free.
They served the frozen Matsuba crab, the legs are ok but the body part is quite bland. I didn't want to eat it (its not that bad just that I am quite picky), but I didn't want to waste any food. So we asked the manager for some crab brown meat (those they use for sushi) and he was kind enough to gave us some (don't think he charged us for that). Mixed it with the crab meat, it brought the frozen crab to a complete different level. We could surely have extra 2 to 3 Matsuba crabs like this if there were not so many other dishes waiting for us.
Everything is unlimited refill for the Shabu Shabu part. It was my first time to eat the omega-fed wagyu beef. They used the sirloin part instead of rib-eye. It tastes not bad and with less fat comparing to other wagyu, but I do prefer the texture of rib-eye when it comes
to Shabu Shabu. It will be nice if they offer rib-eye too, but of course the price will be very different. The pork looks a bit fat but it doesn't feel oily in the mouth. It will be even better if they can cut it slightly thinner. There was a little surprise from the chicken. They used chicken thigh, which I didn't expect it to be so tender.
Very normal vegetable platter. It will be better if they don't serve the pak choi. Wouldn't shungiku be a better choice of the season?
The only thing they really need to improve is the Hiroshima oysters.
If you are a udon lover, it will be a good idea to save some space for their udon.
總括而言都係一個物有所值的一餐。食得過癮,可以一試。
All-in-all, it is a good deal and good meal. We had a good time, decent food and excellent service. Worth a try!
