爺爺慶生飯,在網上找了一間網評不俗的中菜館「唐宮小聚」試試。未抵達前,還以為餐廳是一間酒家菜館。抵達後才得知和想法有異。餐廳走新派時尚風格,格調製作富新鮮感。因週日晚幾近滿座,座處難免有點擠迫。餐廳的食品以小碟為主,迎合大眾「眼闊肚窄」的心意。一行七大兩小點了以下美食。小聚併盤是一份自選套餐,三款小碟只取價 $108 頗為實惠。蔥油樹雞雞肉嫩滑,蔥油香口。翡翠鴨卷是凍食小品,內𥚃以酸爽瓜菜為主要食材,反而鴨肉味道不算突出。皮蛋豆腐是彰顯刀功的菜式,難處在於把豆腐切成薄片,豆腐口感挺滑。餐廳的必食之選有五款,除火焰菠蘿暫停供應外,其餘各點一客試試。白玉王鴿熱食皮脆,肉味濃,但肉汁未算豐富。猛虎咬豬雖以豬腩肉製作,但選料不算太肥,細周生擇肥而食,一口氣吃了件半,筆者只能淺嚐一口,未能試真味道。荷花蒸飯內有充足的蝦肉及雞丁作餡,加上搶口的鹹蛋黃碎,味道不俗。無咁簡蛋主要素材是辣子雞,以川椒炒勻炸雞粒,入口以川辣口味為主,鹹重辣輕,雞肉不太出味。菜式借用「無咁簡單」為名,玩味之處落在「假蛋」之上。大家所見的蛋黃,其實是芒果醬汁,做法相信參考了份子料理的晶球化作用。以酸甜果醬伴以上火炸品是不錯的
