🐥宮崎南蠻炸雞 Deep Fried Chicken w/ Tartare Sauce HKD 75💭 Chicken Nanban is a popular Western style "yoshoku" dish that originated from the Miyazaki prefecture in Japan. It is prepared by cooking fried chicken in a sweet vinegar sauce and then topping it with a rich homemade Japanese tartar sauce. Hence the sauce really is the star of the dish. Must say, it’s a delicious combo even though the skin of the chicken has gone a little soggy. Personally though I prefer the classic chicken karage! 🦑魷魚沖漬 Mari

💭Quite a unique dish though personally, I prefer the texture and flavour of 螢光魷魚沖漬 Small Cuttlefish Marinated in Soy Sauce.

💭This was quite disappointing as it looked very different from the picture in the menu😭 Tasted quite blend too and had to drench each piece in soy sauce. And considering that the entire dish only consisted of half a soggy blend eggplant, really wouldn’t recommend. Btw, do note that the picture only shows 1/5 of that precious half of an eggplant as I was so weirded out by this dish that I almost forgot about taking a picture.😂

Nimono (煮物) is my favourite category on their menu! It is a Japanese simmered dish that generally consists of a base ingredient simmered in daishi stock flavored with sake, soy sauce, and sugar.

Think it’s the first time I have ever seen such a variety of nimono served at a Japanese restaurant in Hong Kong! I only recall seeing nimono in food stalls in the cooked food section of those super clean and neat shopping centres in Japan.

💭The pork was super tender and those meatball-like things aren’t actually meatballs but some kind of taro/root vegetable mash shaped into a ball!
