To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 今日約咗朋友去行山,去行大風坳,再落興東邨,約咗九點在鰂魚涌出發,我在七點起床梳洗整理,八點出門口,去太興食早餐,叫咗一個A餐,有火腿通粉,腸仔炒蛋,還有牛油多士,再嚟一杯熱奶茶,這個早餐非常之普通,但是防疫工作做得很好,每位客人都會問佢幾多位,請先要再等一會兒,再幫每位客人量體溫,請客人用搓手液搓手,然後再帶客人入座, 招呼非常好,好有禮貌,值得一讚,還有佢個炒蛋非常之嫩滑,炒蛋又香又濃又滑,食飽了要去坐電車到鰂魚涌行山。
