To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 早茶時段需要搭枱,在差不多全是老人家的天下找個位置,也不是太難。跟對坐的公公婆婆打個招呼,喝口普洱,開始研究點心紙。選擇頗多,想想看看,最終要了腸粉和燒賣。叉燒腸粉先來,腸粉滑滑,料多扎實,叉燒新鮮,還有清香芫茜,甚有驚喜!燒賣餡料有豬肉、蝦和冬菇,香爽不膩,面頭還附上蝦膠蝦子,好味道!早茶多數只叫兩籠,但試過兩個基本點心之後,決定追加個煎鯪魚餅(10元)。鯪魚餅即叫即煎,三大塊,吃落燙口,要稍微歇一歇才能進食。魚肉混了臘腸粒,味道有保證,而且鯪魚餅煎得非常香口,邊緣脆卜卜,又不見得太過油膩,越吃越開心!看見微型煲仔飯有很多捧場客,若再來,可以試試。埋單時得知星期六早茶有六折,嘩,六折?!若無記錯,這餐只是37元,換來是三籠足量點心,而且味道並不失禮,實在物超所值!
