To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 三月中旬星期天早上,天色晴朗。一大早兩友人來電說在中環一家酒家吃點心,要我過去,想了一會就住坐車過去了。過去以後他們已經在吃,吃點心的好處就是可以點到滿桌都是,卻總是不會浪費食物,總有人吃得完,我就加點了幾道個人愛吃的。這裡的蝦餃皇皮不算特別薄,不過挺晶瑩剔透,欣賞的是裡面全是蝦肉,沒有混合豬肥膏。黑椒蒸鳳爪的黑胡椒味不算突出,醬汁不會太過濃稠是可取之處。最愛的四寶滑雞扎,有半顆冬菇,魚肚,火腿跟雞塊,好險沒有芋頭在裡面,雞肉滑嫩,魚肚也是厚厚一塊,味道不錯。要數最奇怪的是瑤柱灌湯餃,根本是湯泡水餃,皮浸過頭是當然的,裡面的料味道也跟湯頭不配合,以前的灌湯餃是真的把湯灌進餃子裡面,這種省時的菜品不及格。在中環區這種酒家也就是加減吃,沒甚麼要求的話是還可以的,中規中矩。
