To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 今朝(9-6-2010 Wed)同男友落荃灣食早餐,邊行邊諗食邊間,一到o黎呢間未食過佢o既早餐就入o黎啦,好full啊,我o地坐o係一邊o既卡位,睇睇餐牌有好多選擇,男友要$16.00o既菠蘿油同熱奶茶餐,我要$17.00o既奶油多熱奶茶餐.兩杯飲品先到,我o地同樣只落一包糖,茶味同樣唔太夠,不過都可以接受.男友o既菠蘿油到o黎,size係正常,我冇問佢comment.等o左一段時間,我o既奶油多至到,其實我想問佢係咪漏o左單.多士係厚多士,應該有一吋厚,有好多錬奶,食落夠脆口,甜度一定足夠.奇遇絕對唔關食物事,係坐我o地對面o個pair客人,男o既遲o黎並叫個早餐A,凍飲同火腿通粉先到,個男人食晒啲火腿絲,剩返約9成通粉,之後佢o既煎蛋同牛油餐包定方包到o黎,佢竟然不滿咁話唔要.我同男友都諗佢係開玩笑咋?點知佢講多一次話唔要,我o地都訝異,侍應都拎返走.佢就問一句,可唔可以減返錢?之後佢o地都埋單走人.我同男友講幾想話不如畀我o地食,男友話佢都想咁講,哈哈.之後佢o地身後o既一個女客人同我打招味.原來係住係幾遠o既一個朋友,奇怪佢咁早過o黎做乜?
