To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. 每年一到四月,就到好朋友的生日,今年就選定了這間食店。這裡是一般老酒樓的裝修,樓底比較矮,柱位又比較多,對我們這些老餅來說,就增加了一份親切感。看過餐牌,原來用某信用咭會有些優惠,而食物都幾吸引,大家討論後決定一試。泉州菠蘿海蜇球 ~ 外貌非常吸引,貌似迷你菠蘿,配以鹽水葱花一起食用。它的質地非常爽脆,可惜爽得來帶硬,少了柔韌度;且亦不吸味,雖然不是雞脾,但也足以令人牙骹軟了。瑤柱響螺燉海中寶 ~ 味道濃郁,因加入很多雞腳,很重膠質,雖然每人可分到兩碗,但仍覺唔多夠喉😋油浸紐西蘭藍鱈魚 ~ 泡油的時間控制得宜,魚肉經反覆㓎泡顯得外脆內軟,加上甜甜的醬油及青嫩幼細的葱絲、薑絲同吃;是非常下飯的一道菜。鮑汁扣原隻花膠皇 ~ 大而厚身的花膠扣得很入味,切起來仲有些少「啜」刀㖭,入口軟糯,加上了鮑汁提鮮;認真大滿足啊!鮑魚銀絲煲 ~ 鮑魚有六件之多,size也不會太小,煮得又淋又入味,但想不到,放在㡳下的粉絲才是主角,粉絲完全吸收了鮑魚的鮮味;你一口我一口,很快便把它吃光光了。福建海帶魚丸肉燕餃 ~ 大大粒的魚丸倒是沒有什麼特別,魚肉味也不是太濃,倒是肉燕餃卻頗不錯;餃皮煙韌,內裡的絞肉也鮮。
