To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 下午四點左右,趁人少進場吃飯,走到卡位想要坐下,被黑衣服務員攔住,硬是被帶到逼仄位置。此時場內還有大量卡位,很多卡位上未有預約,我們提出兩人會吃很快,不會耽誤經營,但服務員眉毛一挑,不為所動。下午茶時間,空的座位很多,服務員卻一根筋地不知變通,令人費解。這家店已經光顧多次,但遇到這樣的服務,還是第一次。我們也能夠理解店家的難處,如果是繁忙時間,一定不會提出這些要求,但在明顯到處都是空位,离飯點還有兩小時的時候,希望相關黑衣服務員能夠加強服務意識。
