To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. There are two types of sauce that you can choose from for the beef don. One’s meant to be sweeter whereas the other is supposed to be spicy - however after tasting both versions I couldn’t tell the difference.

The beef in this don is thicker than the typical fatty beef that you get from places like Yoshinoya. However, this also made it quite difficult to chew, and the texture of the meat was relatively tough. A large portion of the beef was made up of fat as well. Luckily it was marinaded quite well and so the flavour makes up for the lack of tenderness.

There’s actually a pile of bean sprouts and some seaweed bits beneath the beef to go along with the rice, but since there wasn’t much sauce to go with, it was quite hard to finish the entire bowl.

Overall I would say that the quality and taste was average, probably won't go out of my way to come back here again.
