To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 今日執完間屋既野之後,個肚餓刑想食左個人咁滯,於是即刻衝落街搵食,o係馬鞍山想搵啖好食既真心難的,住馬鞍山既朋友仔就會理解了。叫左碗「宋嫂魚羹」魚肉肉质質細嫩、火腿色澤鮮明,瘦肉香咸帶甜,肥肉香而不膩,美味可口。竹芛又含有大量纖維,對腸道蠕動非常有效。「翡翠上海小籠包」是我由細至大都非常愛吃的一道美食,包皮厚薄適中,同時能承托包內湯汁。尖端位置剛剛好,賣相很美。「上海擔擔麵」 雖然正宗是撈來吃的,但近年已演變成湯麵的食法,免治豬肉爽口彈牙、蒜頭、洋葱和花生既配合之下份外惹味,加入秘製既醬汁連高湯齊煮上海幼麵,色香味俱全。「麻辣口水雞」雞腿肉質鮮味、香滑柔軟、雞皮更加是爽滑緊緻,秘製的醬汁淋在切好的雞肉上,不論是冬天/夏天食都好開胃,冷盤來講「口水雞算是數一數二的熱選美食吧」
