To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 前幾日同幾個朋友去試觀塘陶源嘅大閘蟹2小時放題 ($488, 另+1,和茶錢)。唔會有下次,成餐飯比想像中差。講左主角大閘蟹先,有3款烹調方法:清蒸/雕酒/鹽焗,叫曬3款口味,但味道和口感分別不大,蟹肉一啲都唔清甜,無乜味道,比較瘦,蟹膏份量很少,而且偏乾, 每拆一隻就希望有驚喜,但結果係.... 無 ><, 如圖啦!糯米飯,一點點糯米香都無, 偏濕軟,有怪味!甜品方面, 芒果布甸真係完全冇味,好奇幻,唔知自己食緊乜><最正常係楊枝甘露和湯圓,大家為左填肚,結果每人食左各兩碗。食食下,有個女侍應走埋嚟招呼下,我地話啲大閘蟹無乜膏, 佢大大聲話咁都叫做冇膏, 所以佢即席開一隻蟹嚟睇,結果佢細細聲話:真係唔得喎!之後大家喺無聲之下,繼續食埋啲蟹嘞!
