To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 這種位於大商場內的連鎖中菜,賣點是方便,味道就不要有期望,正常就算了一行八人,叫了這個六人套餐另加兩個小菜先檢查一下餐具,八人份碗筷竟然發現4件有明顯污垢要更換,這是大集團管理應有的衛生水準嗎?以為兩個正價的小菜會比較像樣,還是失望了香酥鴨:一上枱見到鴨子的「古銅膚色」已經知道出事,鴨皮不是香酥而是乾硬,肉質暗啞粗糙,明顯翻炸過火咕嚕肉:肥肉比例較多,而且醬汁不夠酸也不夠甜至於號稱特價的套餐更「精彩」了碧綠什菌炒鮮鮑魚:那幾塊切片鮮鮑魚質地極靭,幾乎完全無味,感覺像咀嚼擦紙膠。拉絲雪燕海皇羮:冬瓜盅沽清,只好要這個。糊狀的湯底味精感比較重,裏面有數粒有點雪味的海鮮粒,就是平價全包宴的貨色懷舊燒鹵拼盤:紅腸/超市急涷煙鴨胸/鹵蛋/鹵豬手,即是燒味四寶飯走飯加幾件皮包骨燒鴨,最大的好處是夠份量海味扒素千層:所謂海味,是指醬汁內稀疏的魚唇/冬菇/瑤柱絲。而我比較手慢,只吃到幾條魚唇加一堆汁浸腐竹芝士焗加拿大龍蝦尾伴魚麵:全晚最正常的一道菜。只是吃到最後朋友見到托底的木盆有疑似幾粒昆蟲的物體,嚇到立即把木盆掉到旁邊已結賬離座的枱上,所以沒有拍照清蒸沙巴花尾躉:因為我不食魚,無從評價芋蓉珍珠糕:
