I had to work on Saturday. I was so hungry after work and decided to have dinner in Central. I remembered there was a Michelin recommended chicken rice Thai restaurant nearby which I had wanted to try for so long. It was a bit hard to find as it was masked by the many small wet market stores. Yet it was bright and clean inside with sufficient room among tables.I was too tired so did not want to think and just ordered their 晚市2人套餐B. There were still a lot of choices within the set dinner!晚市2人套餐B

晚市2人套餐B included a soup, an appetiser, a salad, a regular Hainanese chicken, a bowl of curry, a veggies dish, two bowls of rice and two desserts. No drink was included though. Almost each item had a choice from more than one item. Very flexible!
All the food was served to us very very soon.

The soup was served in a very nice pot and smelt so appetising throughout our meal. It was mostly sour and just slightly spicy, obviously catering for HK people's preferences. It was not too oily with loads of ingredients, including 8 small shrimps, 3 pork balls and many 草菇 & 秀珍菇.

They were quite sour and spicy but even I could accept it. They were crispy and I particularly liked how even all the bones were edible. Even the side which was the spring onion heads was tasty.

Both were freshly deep fried and almost burnt my mouth even after being left cold for a while. The prawn cake crust was super thin and was crispy! The spring roll was crispy too. I particularly liked the sweet and sour sauce on the side which made the deep fried food taste so good!

It seemed that the chicken dish was recommended by Michelin. Half of it was chicken leg and another half was chicken breast - catering for the preferences of both camps of chicken lovers. Even the chicken breasts were so tender. The accompanying sauce was so sweet and highly enhanced the flavour of the chicken!

There were numerous pieces of tendon and 4 beef briskets. All of them were super tender especially the tendon, probably the most tender I had ever tried. Accompanying sides were sweet peppers of different colours and onions. The curry sauce was sweet which pleased me so much! It went great with rice even with the yellow rice. No wonder their signature curry!

It was so healthy and not oily at all! Portion was quite big as part of a dinner set with many varieties of veggies like cabbages, 芥蘭,雲耳,carrots.

The yellow rice was not bad. Portion was great and it was not overly oily.

The Thai dessert was either 大菜糕or椰汁糕. We chose the latter which was refreshing and not overly sweet at all. Although it was quite mini, it was quite a good end of the big feast.
There were a lot of dishes included in the set and yet it just cost $298 for two without additional service charge. Quite a good value for money indeed! Service was so warm as the server asked what we thought about the food and offered us additional water after we had finished ours. Definitely a place to come back from time to time for a good meal in Central. One thing worth mentioning was that the Thai food was generally less spicy and sweeter - probably to cater for HK people's preferences.
