To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 沙田新城市廣場八樓的同一集團的三間中菜館,裝修後漸漸再度投入服務。今天來了北京樓,進入菜館,感覺挺好,間隔採用了半開放式的設計,而且看來較以前高級。唯一不足就是我們今天坐的位置較接近餐廳入口。來北京樓當然有吃烤鴨,我們只三個人,所以點了半隻,烤鴨來了,賣相跟味道還可以,可惜,食起來像菜涼了才送上,就是沒以前那麼好吃,有點失準。😥餐前小吃方面,以前來北京樓都會點蒜泥白肉,我愛那又濃又香可不膩的醬,伴著白肉一起吃,真是回味無窮。可惜,今天把整本餐牌看了幾遍也找不到這菜式。😥最後選了麻醬雞絲粉皮和餚肉,幸好這兩個味道都不錯。😊主菜我們點了雲腿糟蒸黃魚,賣相很特別,冬菇肉厚美味,但黃魚的味道卻只是一般。今天最滿意的是羊肚菌鮑魚螺燉湯,溫度夠、味清甜。不過整體來說,這晩餐還是有點令人失望。
