To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 香港尖沙咀海运中心的“牛角”(烤肉店)那个身高一米八五有点胖胖的领班。这个人绝对有问题!我在晚上十点十七分的时候拿着菜单用普通话问他能不能再多加两份虾,他用粤语说可以的。过了一会他来到我位置前用粤语快速地说了一通。我听不懂的说“我听不懂粤语的。您说中文吧”他说“不好意思我们这里十点半就不能点餐了!现在不能点了”他对我说完后,又对着隔壁另一桌用粤语问“先生,你们还要加菜吗”(这句我听的很清楚) 隔壁的说“就不加了” 我看了下手机时间,明明才是十点二十分!他離開後,我問了其他店員,店員說“可以加餐呀”之后那個領班他走到我跟前说“不好意思,我们这要结账了,今天机器坏了不可以用银联”(态度极差) 但是他走后,我拿着银联到了前台给了其他的店员,她一样帮我结账了! 我就打开软件查这家店,果不其然真的有说这个领班对大陆人的态度非常不好。
