To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 記得粉嶺都有一間百份百餐廳, 食物質素雖不低, 但就是差在常常漏單, 有時食物售完卻要落單後十五分鐘才告知食客, 很不爽......愛民的百份百餐廳也秉承了這個傳統......堂食時, 時常會聽到有人催單, 話等了半小時甚至更久, 試過對面搭枱有一位巴士車長, 一小時用膳時間, 等候一碗潮洲湯飯, 用了40分鐘......話說回來, 有次同同事去食, 同事點了鹿兒島黑豚肉讚歧烏冬, 小弟點了印尼燒雞扒拼煎蛋飯, 一如既往, 先上餐飲, 同事的黑豚肉烏冬約15分鐘後送上, 但小弟的雞扒蛋飯卻等了35分鐘.其實很多款食物都好好味的, 例如犀飛利肉絲炒麵, 炒麵真係可以同酒樓的質素相比, 而且份量大大, 茶餐廳很少吃到的, 咖哩飯類的咖哩的辣度都十分足夠, 海南雞飯都OK, 雖然隻雞肉質較靱......當然都有一些是份量不足的情況, 例如功夫叉燒飯......希望漏單的情況可以有所改善啦
