To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 都市人追求健康生活,保持良好的飲食習慣是當中不可或缺的一環。多菜少肉,高纖低油鹽是大家也知悉的目標,但要嗜吃一族時刻吃得清淡又談何容易?!退而求其次,間中來一頓素菜,也算是踏出健康飲食的一小步。在好友介紹下,首嘗了一間素食店「無肉食」。餐廳以自助餐形式經營,午市只需 $70/位,沒有加一或其他雜費。餐廳內部裝潢簡單,食物枱設在近入口的位置。繞圈行了一周,各式素菜約有二十款左右。煮南瓜、炆蘿蔔及炒四季豆是小編覺得不俗的素菜。素菜炒麵炒得爽香亦屬可口。各式煎炸品亦較預期出色,普遍沒有走氣失脆的情況,建議試試炸豆腐及炸腐皮卷這兩款炸品。席間另有茶水、湯品及甜湯供應。薑茶味淡。喳咋足料,甜度適中。雖然只是素菜,但因供應無限量,必能吃得飽飽。以人均消費 $70 來衡量,菜餚款式都算多,味道普遍合理,有機會會再來!
