To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 由一間小小茶餐廳,變成香港名牌的"翠華",今天,開到去土瓜灣,位置在欣榮花園,德昌魚蛋粉之舊址。當早前翠華仍是裝修期間,在門外拍下照片,上載至社交網站,身邊的街坊朋友,有些說希望不要像以前,那麼大的油煙味,亦有些說:還我XX!有人說,翠華現已成為茶餐廳界的霸權,將茶餐廳高級化,價錢不是普羅市民能夠負擔,在土瓜灣的分店,價格大約是如何?我喜愛的肉絲炒麵,$50一碟,那個鐵板蝦仁兩麵皇,$68,不要忘記,對面的七喜,肉絲炒麵賣大約三十多,同在北帝街的鴻滿茶餐廳,下午茶時段,只是$25一碟,更包一杯飲品。掛名為鮑汁肉絲炒麵,其實吃不出任何鮑汁味道,味道與中環一樣,肉絲汁不太杰,厚薄適中,麵條香脆可口。辣醬與芥辣,是肉絲炒麵之好拍檔,缺一不可。$50一碟炒麵,偶然吃還可,如果每天也要吃,我會選擇到對面的七喜。始終,吃了多年,有感情。
