the restaurant is small, but seating is comfy. the staff is very friendly & can chat with you like old friend (if you speak cantonese). there are 3 groups of food: today's specials on the blackboard (hkd$80-160), set menu for 2-6 people (hkd$90/pp), & regular entrees (avg hkd$60-80). only the last page of menu shows some fusion dishes, but then not exactly sounds like chinese-italian fusion to me. if you bring a bottle of wine, no corkage fee. for 2nd bottle, $100 corkage. we ordered the set men

the restaurant is small, but seating is comfy. the staff is very friendly & can chat with you like old friend (if you speak cantonese). there are 3 groups of food: today's specials on the blackboard (hkd$80-160), set menu for 2-6 people (hkd$90/pp), & regular entrees (avg hkd$60-80). only the last page of menu shows some fusion dishes, but then not exactly sounds like chinese-italian fusion to me. if you bring a bottle of wine, no corkage fee. for 2nd bottle, $100 corkage.

we ordered the set menu. each person can choose 1 main dish out of a list of 12-16. some of them cost $10 extra. the price also includes a veggie dish (pick from 4 choices), rice, soup & dessert. the main dishes are small plates, which may seem not enough to eat if you are hungry tiger. we had the lamb meat with eggplants, curry beef tongue, chicken with veggies & beef patty with water chestnuts. the flavor & seasoning are distinct for each dish. the soup with lotus root and pork was very good too.

their desserts are very unique and cute. we had the poached pear filled with egg tart & champaigne, baked tapioca pudding and "hard boiled" egg with real shell which is actually filled with mango & coconut jello. wonderful look & fantastic tastes!

we also got a promotional voucher of $47 to return on weekdays. all in all, borgo c. is a little gem of refined chinese gourmet cuisine. it is worth a trip out of your routine way to taste the east soho.
