Today is Dec the 1st (Saturday) and I went to Festival Walk with a bunch of friends for lunch. We were originally going to Queen's Cafe but my girlfriend was attracted by decorations of Rice Paper. So what the hack, might as well give it a try........

The hostess (the lady who arrange the waiting list at the door) was really friendly and courteous. We were looking at people ice-skating and didn't hear her calling for us when our number came up, but she came around and told us our table was ready. What a service!!!! : ) I must admit that I already like the restaurant at that point. Unfortunately that's the high point of the whol elunch and things went downhill from there.....

Honestly speaking the French Colonial style decoration was really impressive. Wish my home looks like that too. But the service (other than the hostess) really sucked. The waitresses (plural hence more than one so not isolated cases) were unresponsive. The girl who took our orders even showed annoyance when I hesitated on my choice of drink! Another girl came and tried taking away the "dripper" of my girlfriend's Vietnamese coffee without even asking. My girlfriend asked her nicely to leave it 'cos she didn't want the coffee to get cold before she had a chance to drink it. Guess what did teh waitress do??? She "blowed air from her nose", made an about turn and just stormed away!!!!

I'm sorry but we really did not mean to keep your "toy"...........

The food quality was okay overall. I'm not about to comment on the price 'cos we expected it to be on the expensive side given the fancy decorations. But one would naturally expect services far better than a bunch of spoiled brats. It's either the management didn't communicate the importance of customer experience, or the restaurant is paying these waitresses really bad they just do not care.

The staffs at Pho Hua in Tsimshatsui were much friendlier and helpful, yet they charged much cheaper than Rice Paper.

Will never go again even if it's free.
