To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 位於沙田大會堂附近的美心皇宮酒樓常常擠滿食客等位,但原來在星期一至五日十點前來飲早茶便不用排隊,可即時入座。今早九時許來到這酒樓飲早茶,可自由選枱,雖然食客亦不少。~北菇綿花雞北菇只有一隻,魚肚份量不少,魚肚非常入味,而且爽口。雞肉已醃過,不肥膩而肉滑。~帶子腸粉腸粉皮較厚,帶子雖不算細粒,但不算新鮮。不沾豉油來吃這腸粉便會覺得味道淡了些。~芋角賣相似蜂巢的芋角炸得松脆,饀料的芋蓉綿綿的,非常軟滑。吃起來外脆內軟的芋角真是美味無窮。~叉燒包一籠兩個的叉燒包外皮不算太厚,叉燒粒饀料不會過咸。~鮮竹卷鮮竹卷的蠔油芡汁較濃,鮮竹卷的饀料豐富。亮點是鮮竹卷還伴有一小棵黃芽白,這菜已吸收了汁,煮得淋滑,非常討人!
