To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

以竹昇打麵這種傳統技藝,在今時今日的香港已經買少見少,只餘數間有名麵家仍然保留這種傳統製麵技術,當中包括深水埗的「劉森記」、灣仔的「永華」等。而在長沙灣區,也有一間連續在2012與2013年獲得米芝蓮品題為「車胎人美食」,並且成為2013年中國飯店金馬獎得主之一的「坤記竹昇麵」。這天忙碌工作過後,正是肌腸轆轆的時候,剛巧路經這間「坤記竹昇麵」,正好入內吃點東西,才再上路。在店子的「粉麵套餐」中揀選了「柱侯牛腩麵」做主角,加上隨套餐附送的「蠔油生菜」和飲品一杯,成為了這頓代替了午餐的下午茶。以竹昇打製的銀絲細麵幼細爽口而不帶鹼水味,兼且帶有蛋香,的確是水準之作。但半筋半肉的牛腩質素則只是普通,算不得上品。都怪自己這天想吃牛腩,也沒做功課先行查看店中除了竹昇麵之外有甚麼招牌食品,所以只吃了店中並無多少人提及和讚賞過的牛腩,非店之罪也。這店子的招牌食品原來包括「魚子瑤柱蝦子雲吞麵」、「肉絲竹昇麵」、「蝦子蠔油撈麵」、「紅燒鹵肉」和「南乳豬手」,這天都錯過了,希望下次可以吃到,可以一試這兒招牌竹昇麵以外的其他招牌出品吧!
