To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. 大圍餐廳選擇眾多,這家太興門市不算小,但即使已開放二樓,無論早午晚亦不時見到門外短短的人龍,足見大圍街坊對其喜愛程度。就個人來說,曾到訪沙田、葵芳、旺角、上環和機場等分店,也始終認為大圍店的食物質素較佳且穩定,員工大多親切友善,有工作效率。環境方面,人流以致客人大部分時間都需要跟陌生人搭枱,還好地面全是卡式座位,感覺不太焗促。餐廳已開業數年以上,基本清潔是有的,但廁所則光顧多次依然不能接受。說回食物,早餐供應的也是一般茶餐廳食物。炒蛋 - 份量剛好,蛋的生熟、滑度也接近心目中的完美。多士 - 大方的厚方包,烘得剛剛好。火腿通粉 - 加了椰菜絲錦上添花。奶茶 - 無論冷熱質素都十分穩定,由於用奶關係,以致不需落糖,也隱約嚐到苦以外的口味,舌頭一碰便感受到一份厚滑,茶底微微偏澀,味道回甘。凍的有少許偏甜,若點冰震的不能少甜。
