I seldom had Chiu Chow Cuisine. To brighten up the day, we decided to come for a decent meal at this 陳儀興尚潮樓! Believe it or not, it was our first time to try marinated female mud crab. Portion was quite big with a whole crab. The crab was fresh with smooth flesh like sashimi crab. We could tell that the crab was cleaned very well. The crab had lots of female mud which did taste quite rich for the breast part. Flavour-wise it was mostly the preserved fish sauce with garlic. There was some sweet and sour sauce on the side.

There were 8 pieces of goose intestines. They were cleaned thoroughly and were quite crispy and bouncy. There were around 8 slices of goose flesh, some bigger and some smaller. They were all well marinated and reasonably tender. There were four slices of 鵝肝. When it came to 鵝肝, I usually ate it the French style, i.e. pan fried. But they were pretty good in Chiu Chow style. They were not greasy at all and were pretty fresh and reasonably dense. The 鵝三寶 went very great with the vinegar served on the side. Underneath the 鵝三寶, there were some fresh bean sprouts and 4 slices of tofu.

We ordered one more Chinese dish to share. This 梅汁炆豬手 was served in a pot to keep warmth. There were around 10 pieces which had been simmered perfectly that they were so tender yet still good to chew. They were so rich in collagen that they made my lips so sticky afterwards. The plum sauce was sweet and salty that it should go well with plain rice.

The plain rice was pretty soft with distinct rice grains. The congee was typical Chiu Chow style with long-boiled rice grain in rice water.  It was very smooth and quite my cup of tea.

We also ordered a 潮汕飲品 which was 老藥桔. From the Chinese name, we could not tell what it was. In English, it was Preserved Kumquat Drink. It was one of the typical Chiu Shan drinks. The flavour of preserved kumquat was quite rich but not too artificial. I ordered hot while my lunch partner ordered cold. It was quite sweet. 



It was a very nice dining out meal with very comfortable seats in a nice environment and welcoming service. Service was very good as they changed our used plates frequently and staff was friendly. Would definitely come back from time to time.
