To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 早前在旅發局的夜饗樂活動選了美中·鴨子的$100餐飲卷,今天就獨自去試食吧!放工後來到餐廳已經是晚上八點半,餐廳人不多,餐廳內原來有一個大大的開放式廚房,在中菜館算是少見。職員安排我坐的位置正正在開放式廚房對出,獨自食飯的我可以靜靜地欣賞廚房裡忙過不停的廚師工作。看了一輪餐牌,點了四川擔擔麵($60)和上海砂鍋雲吞鴨湯($58),手機下單後大約10分鐘便上菜。先來個四川擔擔麵。花生肉碎舖在麵上,攪勻後試食一口:麵的軟硬度適中,湯底味道不算太辣,個人認為還可以辣一點,比較欣賞是肉碎內的乾蝦米,很入味。再來個砂鍋雲吞鴨湯。可以選一人份實在太適合我這些獨自開飯的人!這一人份的湯十分足料,雲吞、鴨肉、小棠菜都各有兩件!雲吞不過不失,比較欣賞的是裡面的鴨肉,食落有微微咸味,像是醃過的,很入味。這次一個人食飯實在試不了太多道菜,下次要帶多幾個朋友再來用餐吧!
