To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 原本想吃車仔麵,但華記還在放假,就去了百份百買外賣。我要鮮茄豬扒焗飯,中年戴眼鏡的男店員說要$60,我嚇了一跳,去年應該是$50不到…我問是否加價了,店員不耐煩地問我要哪個飯… 我又不是在百份百打工,怎會知道有多少款蕃茄豬扒焗飯。幸好一起排隊的女士在餐牌上指出「滋味焗鮮茄豬扒飯」,原來那個店員(其他女店員很好的)要按著餐牌上的編號才懂得落單。外賣價錢是$46連熱飲。回家後,發現熱飲的熱檸水比焗飯還要熱,焗飯只是微暖,我估餐廳是預先製作了一堆焗飯,便照吃,味道沒有變。豬扒還是下了很多鬆肉粉,整體不過不失。吃兩飯2小時後,我開始拉肚子,至今已經瀉了三次。這是我今天的第一餐,肯定是焗飯出問題…
